Pac Sci 832 Went Crazy - Now won't accept step/dir inputs

Hi and thanks for looking. My drive sent my router so fast (belt drive) it smashed into the hard stop. Now it will not accept step/dir inputs. The drive's diagnostic program reports all ok and serial commands all work ok. I'm getting my 5v from the pc at the input of the 832. This was a working set-up.
The last thing I did (inadvertently) was to move the pc-832 comm cable close to the servo motor cable - the likely suspect I know.

    Any ideas on repairing?

Can't help you specifically with this drive, as I've never seen one...

I imagine if the drive accepts serial commands but not step/dir that you've somehow fried the input circuit for the step/dir decoder.

Is it opto isloated inputs? If so it might have just killed the opto's, and you might be able to replace them.. If you have some electronic tools (Multimeter/scope/logic probe) it should be reasonably easy to diagnose a failed opto..

Can you try the PC on a different driver? Or put a meter/scope on the pins coming out of the PC to see if you have toasted the parallel port on the PC..

Just my 2c worth, without knowing the driver or circuit type...

    Cheers, Me.
