    Drag Chain -Max Length

    Looking at building a fabric plotter....approx 40' x 7'. What is max recommended length for a drag chain?

    Some excavators run drag chains maybe 50 m or more.
    Just allow for the voltage drop due to cable resistance.

    Look at the manufacturers specs. They'll tell you the max length. The main problem you run into is supporting it's weight.
