    DynaMyte 2400 Conversion Final Speeds

I know some of the folks on here have got the 2400 running on either the OEM controller or Mach 3. What kind of rapids are you getting and practical speeds on aluminum? I did a older Mill Drill conversion and was very disappointed in the results. Perhaps IF I would have dumped another $400 or so in updated larger stepper motors it might have been a better outcome.

Thanks and I know your all busy but I have a line on a 2400 and IF I could get it cheap enough......

Re: DynaMyte 2400 Conversion Final Speeds

The issue with the DM2400 is the gear reduction. It might have been necessary for the steppers at the time, it isnt needed with the newer steppers. IIRC I was only getting a max of 40ipm. That wasnt a useable speed just max. On the other hand, the travels being so small it doesnt take long to get anywhere. I was running Mach 3.
A lazy man does it twice.
