I've owned it for about 6 months. Cut quite a few bits so hopefully it will go well. These latest issues came from my Chinese vfd erroring on boot up. I replaced it with this one....it was supposed to have been set-up before it was dispatched to me.....you know the rest. Jokers!

I was lazy....tired of being called to the machines all the time. Anyway it paid off, i now have a good design that i am able to use with any future project. Those Chinese drives don't seem to be very good....guess you get what you pay for. They just want to make a sale!

Delta Electronics are also Chinese but they make reasonable stuff. I am buying a Delta EL series 1.5Kw drive for my new machine. Pity i didn't rather plan for a VLT like yours....it is good value for money and i am sure they are better than Delta drives.

What size is your Drive and spindle motor?

Cut out part 1 my project. I made the mistake of using too small a bit so took hours....but new vfd never skipped a beat. I feel I need to seriously speed up the cutting but not sure of the recommended way to know my machines limits.

I'll cut the profile cuts on Monday and post the results. Work stops play 🤣

Ordered some 4 core CY cable. 10m should be enough to do the limit switches too.

Sometimes it is worth the extra money spent for quality parts, even if it is just for peace of mind, but it does not always mean they will last any longer

Ericks I thought I would setup a z axis probe. I thought it would be a case of connecting it to the the two terminals on the left of the Bob. However whilst waiting for the probe to arrive I came across an article using our Bob but the wiring seems more complicated.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks Jase

I don't agree with that wiring.....your inputs get 12V from the 12V you supplied (12-24V) input. So don't mix your inputs with any other voltage in or output

So just wire the probe to the terminals on the left and forget the bottom 5v one's?

I thought it was using the 12v too and then use these terminals.

Let me think....meantime don't connect anything to the 5V.....when you trigger a 12V input it "switches" 5V to your parallel port to mach3....no need to supply 5v....you will just short something out

Let me explain.....the 12V is used to trigger/switch the optocoupler, then the output of the opto switches the 5V back to the pc....understand?

This is what I've ordered and probably follow. I like the idea of including the led too.

The one in the video doesn't require a specific voltage....it will work fine on your setup(inputs) Just wire it as a switch in one of your inputs and set it up according to the input you chose
