    Metal question

I had a customer ask me this morning about cutting things such as 925 sterling silver, and gold plated material in the 22-24 Gauge thickness area. I'm totally clueless as to I mainly engrave wood & other gift objects. What would be the best tool for cutting this, such as a small name necklace or similar. Basically making the necklace appear die cut instead of engraved on a surface? I have heard a fiber laser is the way to go, but am not sure.
