If I have drawn a 2" x 2" square and I am using an 1/8" bit for cutting do I need to allow for the 1/8 offset from the bit . Jim Stidham

You will have to allow for the cutter radius (1/16") somewhere, It all depends on the software you are using, with my post processor I introduce a G41 (left) or G42 (right), this way you program to the line and the G code offsets accordingly, of course the cutter diameter (offset) has to be known by the program to offset by the radius amount.
