    2.2kw spindle, which pin is ground?

    The plug on top of my spindle has the 4 pins labeled 1,2,3,4. No idea which 3 are phases and which one is ground.

    The ground is the one that's probably not connected to anything

    Measure the resistance between pairs, and you should find the ground pretty quickly.

    Fair enough. It was pin 4. I honestly did look for my meter before asking hehe. Looked a little harder and found it.

    Confirm that the GND pin is actually continuity to the motor frame, some motors had an open circuit connection.

    Re: 2.2kw spindle, which pin is ground?

    So I have ben reading up on the ground to the spindle and find out on mine there is no connection on my pin 4 to the spindle. Should I solder on a wire and ground to the metal cap? I am to the point of getting my spindle running and also is this correct for the phases, There were no instructions with my 2.2 spindle.
    U=Pin 1
    V=Pin 2
    W=Pin 3
    G=Pin=4 Ground connection this is a must have

    This is what you normally have to do if Pin 4 is not connected P 4 is always Ground for these Spindles

    If you only have a 3 Pin Spindle Plug, you can change the Plugs, so you have a correct 4 Pin Plug, or connect the Ground wire to the Spindle Body

    You have to do the same as what I just posted, I see you sniped from one of my posts, the pin information, it is good that they are being read, just these little things can save some grief down the road

    Thanks for the reply Mactec, Yes I did pull that info from your past post,
    I added the ground today to the spindle as you have shown. Now to finish the enclosure and start wiring this controller up
