Hi, I tried looking for a solution to this problem on the forum before posting so I'm sorry if this one has already been asked.

I have a 100W CamFive laser and I want to cut a lot of MDF. There is a lot of buildup inside the fan from this but that's ok because I can clean the fan. There is a section of the exhaust that I can't clean which is inside the laser cabinet. There is basically a T of square tubing with 2x3" holes. I need to filter the MDF fumes before they enter that tubing where it could potentially build up and ruin my machine. That means I need to filter the intakes inside the cabinet. I need something to put across the vent holes (that hopefully won't catch on fire though that is unlikely...). I thought maybe I could cut up phresh pre-filters? I just don't know anything about this subject. I'd like any suggestions for fixing this problem! Thanks!

Ok since no one has responded. it seems like either no one knows the answer, I've been too vague, or I've asked a particularly stupid question. I'm going to buy a pre-filter today and try it but if anyone has any knowledge about this subject at all, I'd appreciate it. What are the best pre-filters? How does MDF behave when it's in fume form? Will it condense on a colder substrate so should I be considering a metal mesh? How much will a filter of any kind obstruct my air flow? How would you fix this? Is build-up inside an exhaust tube even a problem ever?
