    I built a table-top / benchtop CNC machine using plans from MomusCNC: momus CNC | benchtop DIY router plans | home page
    There is a sub-forum here with other people's builds: http://www.cnczone.com/forums/momus-design-cnc-plans/

    It is a pretty nice machine over all and you do have to fabricate everything yourself but it can all be done without a CNC machine.
