Looking to save myself some time...

I'm trying to find the stepper motor shaft and leadscrew diameter (for the coupler) for my 6040 CNC without dismantling a working machine, does anybody have the measurements or have access to a dismantled unit that they could do me a huge favour and grab the measurements from?

My stepper is 57bygh636-41b, info on this stepper is scarce but I did find a bunch of info on low oz/in Nema 23 steppers being 6.35mm but I did find a post about a 57bygh636-41b that said 8mm.

Remove one coupler and check it. Takes a minute or two, definitely less than asking a forum and waiting for members to reply, so that's what I would do. I don't have the 6040 so I can't help you with the details, I tried to google the motor but you are right, no information.

Yep, your 'rolling the dice' asking this. Easier just to check your machine.

I think they are 6.35 mm x 8 mm (1/4") but when it comes to anything imported from China I'd measure. If you have a digital caliper, you may be able to measure the shaft if there's room for the caliper between the stepper and coupler.
