I will make one of these plates as time permits.
In the mean time, I loosen the collett so the tool cutter slide and jog the Z axis down onto the workpiece until it starts to push the tool and then tighten the collett and zero the Z axis.

The More I Learn The Less I Seem To Know
Thought I'd share my video of this in action. I used one of the shared button scripts, but added a G53 motion to a permanent tool setter plate location. which is mounted on my work fixture.

I connected it using a parallel breakout board in-line. Works pretty good.
I also have a probe tool connected to the breakout board and use it to set the x/y fixture offsets if for some reason I loose my offset.
