Any one seen this drive i action; it's very cheap for sure; in fact it could be almost free with cornflakes
They offer other boards of use too
Please post your views on it and their other offerings

Nice looking little drive. Value = Amps times Volts divided by $ though.

Well, only my 2 cents but..
-750 mA is not much current
-No direct hooking to PC's (SPI interface, internal clock generator)
It seems useful if you will use it driven from a uC and the stepper to drive is small.
Hope it helps

I tell you what, altough there wont be microstepping goin this way.
Take the 26 bucs you wish to spend on that driver, go to a flea market and buy whole alot of old 5 1/4 floppy drives. Thats it. Each floppy drive has 1 unipolar stepper motor, 1 pulse/direction unipolar stepper driver (about the same specs less microstepping), 1 custom motor running constant 360 RPM (the one that actually turns the diskette.
All you have to do is hook up the floppy pcb w 3 wires (GND,STEP,DIR) and you have a functional axis, yes it is low power and low torque but it works and can be used right out of the floppy drive.
don't get me wrong guys; I'm thinking about buying one; just posting the link; maybe some one might need one

You make a lot of assumptions about MY capability in your recent note!
OK - I got some floppy drives stripped down - a variety of steppers - some unipolar - some bipolar ( and surprizsingly different sizes based on year of manufacturer BTW). And some sweet LARGE magnets from some of the constant speed (5 wire) dc motors too.
Now, do you have any HINTS as to how toI suppose once I ID the pins I can then tie them to a parallel cable and move some mini motors?!All you have to do is hook up the floppy pcb w 3 wires (GND,STEP,DIR) and you have a functional axis, yes it is low power and low torque but it works and can be used right out of the floppy drive.
Let's hear. I'm willing to take the challenge!
Thanks - Jim
Experience is the BEST Teacher. Is that why it usually arrives in a shower of sparks, flash of light, loud bang, a cloud of smoke, AND -- a BILL to pay? You usually get it -- just after you need it.
