CNC Router Parts Dust Shoe Fabrication and HPDE Feed Rates

    All,

Just made my first two parts on my CNCRP Pro4848. I used the V-Carve files for the brush strip and the main shoe from their website. To my dismay, the hole patterns do not line up. The two center holes do, but not the 4 outer holes. Has anyone else experienced this? Also, being my first milling of HPDE, I have a question on feed rates. I am using the spiral upcut, 1/4". Out of the box from the v-carve files, the feed rates were 300 IPM. Seemed too high and I observed "chatter" marks on the finished piece. Reduced the feedrate to 150 IPM. That seems to help, but still not a smooth finish....Not bad, but I suspect tweaking the RPM and IPM will improve the finish. Ideas on the best feedrates for HDPE? Climb cut possibly?

Below is a photo of the two dust shoe components stacked as they need to be for the magnets to work. Note the hole offsets.

What did I miss, other than assuming the bolt holes would match?

Did you check the actual dimensions of the hole centers on both parts in the drawing file? Have you calibrated your steps per unit in Mach3?

Dumb question if you rotate one of the parts 90 degrees do they then line up?
