    Check This Out

THIS IS A PRETTY GOOD BOOK. LOOK FOR ANOTHER BOOK ON THE SITE CALLED, " BUILD A PLASTIC INJECTION MOLDING ATTACHMENT FOR A DRILL PRESS". IT IS MORE UP TO DATE, WITH BETTER ELECTRONICS AND CONTROLS.

They do not want to ship to me in South Africa. Any other options?

Looks like Amazon has it and I think they will ship almost anywhere.

Place I used to work made up a couple of plastic injection presses using Harbor Freight Arbor presses and heating coils. Shot had to be loaded by hand but they were for prototype work (one off) Worked great to test small dies. We also made temporary (soft) tooling for Engineering to try out ideas. (Sometimes they worked!)

Has anyone ever actually made or seen one?

I see a lot of posts on the internet about the book "Build a Plastic Injection Molding Attachment for a Drill Press".

Has anyone ever actually seen one work?

Does this go beyond theoretical, or it is another project to sit in the corner when a functional roadblock comes up?

I once worked for an electronics mfgr (since moved to Asia) who used one of those for prototype and short run work. It consisted of a heating coil and a plunger. It was mounted in either a drill press or an arbor press depending on shot size. Generally used there for knobs, cabinet trim and accessories. Worked good for runs up to 100 or so, but was usually used for building samples for sales crew to take around. If orders started coming in we started building a real die for one of the big presses.

    Hi Bread_O

You could try Kevin at backyardengineer he has build a hobby molding machine
the drill press thing is a joke, it is ok to think this way if you were doing micro parts

Hi, I get this injection machine plans. Is similar to the Gingery machine.
I will try to build it but with some personal changes.
