Smallest CNC BT40 bit for cutting porcelain?

    Hi All!
    New member, first post.

I'm in the tiling industry, looking to get into fabrication, and purchase a second-hand "helios zeus" CNC.
    Zeus - 3-axis CNC

Does anyone know the THINNEST BT40 bit i can get to cut 12mm porcelain??

(ive emailed the manufactorer, no answer)

    Cheers

Sorry, but your question does not make a real lot of sense - hence maybe the lack of a reply.

BT40 is an interface between the spindle and the holder for the cutter. You can probably put anything from 0.5 mm diameter to 50 mm in a BT40 spindle.

Now, what is the thinnest cutter you can get for 12 mm porcelain? An open-ended Q! I would think you should be able to get 5 m carbide cutters with a DoC >12 mm. How long would that cutter last? That really depends on RPM and cost of cutter! Cheap=>short. Alternately you could use a diamond cutter - WITH WATER. They are available with a good DoC, but ramp them in! I use diamond on basalt and granite.

    Cheers
    Roger
