    PMDX-109 with UCCNC UB1

Is it possible to use a PMDX-109 on either the 4th or 5th ports on the UB1 (need more outputs) or is a better solution the UD1?

Adding a UD1 would be completely different then plugging a relay board in?
Not sure what the goal is. Do you need more outputs, or just relays?

    I'm using a board like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BLWZQZB...ing=UTF8&psc=1

You can buy 3, and have two spares for less than half the cost of the PMDX-109

    Thanks for the reply Gerry!

I've got two of those same boards. I trigger the relays via the outputs on the UB1, but am limited by the number of outputs available.

Thoughts on the best way to utilize the 16 relays I've got on both boards??

My mistake on my previous reply. The PMDX-109 will NOT work on port 4 and 5 of the UB-1.
You are limited by the design of the UC300ETH, because ports 4 and 5 only have 4 outputs each. You could use a UD-1, or two bidirectional cards like a C10 maybe?

What are you doing that requires 16 relays?

I think the C72, which is a new breakout board that will do what you are asking for:

    https://cnc4pc.com/c76-uc300-multifunction-board.html

In addition to having all the features, it can easily expand using all kinds of relay or breakout boards.
Note that when you connect an expansion board, like the M26D

    https://cnc4pc.com/m26d-12-relay-expansion-board.html

You are not just connecting power and the signals, but also the enable line, so if e-stop is pressed or the system faults in any way all expansion boards are also disabled.

I've got pneumatics set up for a ATC spindle, vacuum table (4 zones), etc. etc.
