Can a servoamp kill it self?

The BHL analogue amp is in a granite polishing machine. The machine was switched on homed and after pushing the program start botton a X drive fault, that will not clear, after few power cycles the drive started to arc and smoke?

My theory is that stone dust collected little by little in the drive and the machine sat for about 6 months after the move before power up and moisture built up also (Florida) so it shorted some thing.

Also the machine is a 208 V 3ph since the shop has 230 3ph a transformer was installed. The mahine needs 6Kva and the transformer is 6Kva also. Could it be that the transformer is too small?

As far as I know the amp is pretty smart so it will fault before killing it self?

    Thanks
    Dennis

sounds like you wired the tranformer wrong and had an over voltage problem,or maybe somethings damaged on the x axis when it was moved, dont know for sure, any other amps have problems?

The machine worked good for about two days then this happend. It looks like a cheap amp but I will know if a few days. The rest of the drives are doing well.

A new drive is $2,500! Looks like something else is going to fill that place.
