Go to F6 display, F2 error. this will bring up a screen with a 3rd column " following error. see if the error on any of the axis is .0050 or more. If it is then the machine is having a " in position" error. This could be caused by drive tuning or a mechanical problem in that axis. bad thrust bearings, loose ball screw etc.

    Thanks for the reply.

The following error is 0.3mm on each axis. How can this be adjusted. There is no mechanical problem. How can i tweak the driver tuning?

    Thanks

Hi Bact, I would need to know the machine serial # and what type of machine and type of drives are in your machine.

    Hi my name is Ken.
    I have a vkm0-4m kneemill with centurion 6 control.
    Serial No. 4705
Just wondering if anyone has a solution to this problem.
I know it's an old thread but I'm hoping someone can help.
This machine is new to me.
It seems to be stuck in exact stop mode.
It stops for a split second on each line.
Its the same if I use g code or conversional.
The following error was around 0.3mm so I adjusted it to the manuals spec.
    It's now at 0.127mm. This is 0.005inch.
Adjusting the following error made no difference.
Is 0.005 a misprint. Should it be 0.0005?
If I handwheel through a program it will run fine.
The faster I turn the faster it will go through the program and the machine will move like it should..
    Programming g64 doesn't do anything
Using look ahead makes it worse so I have it set to zero.
The in position parameter doesn't seem to make any difference.
I've set it to 0.127, 0.5mm and even 5.0mm but no difference.
The parameter for max corner deviation doesn't help either.
The machine looks like it was upgraded to centurion 6 .
3 axis sls cnc 6.3158 flash
    Front panel 220
    Controller card v0114 000
    Year 1997

It says centurion 1 over the screen.
I think this is a single board model.
It has a hard drive and a USB for loading programs.
It only has 1 ram stick on the motherboard. Should there be more?
I've been in contact with milltronics and they have been very helpful. The guy I was in contact with said it sounded like an in position error but unfortunately it's still a problem. I'm hoping someone here can help.
I work as a machinist/programmer but got this machine for free????.
It's in good condition and is very fast for a knee mill.
I hope to get it running right so I can do some stuff for myself at home.
I have it wired for single phase using a 110v transformer
And a vfd to run the spindle.. I've ran it at 100hz and hasn't exploded.. Yet....
One last thing. This i machine came with a safety cage with an interlock..
Some of the wires from the fpp plug have been cut and now pass through a small plc that's used for the safety switch.
I'd be grateful if anyone can help as I am in Ireland and milltronics is not well known here.
