Hello all,
My current 4th axis VMC is dying a slow and terrible death at the age of 33. Luckily I'm recently the proud owner of an Okuma Cadet-V with the 4th axis drive already installed! Unlucky for me, I don't have the actual rotary table so I'm setting out to convert my spare to run off this drive. The drive in the cabinet is a BL-IID 30A (BL-2D, BL2D). I bought the motor that should go with that drive if I'm reading the manual right; a BL-MH101E-12S. It has a ER-FC-2048D encoder. I believe this is where the problems begin. I've recently learned that the A-axis likely came with a different encoder but the electrical schematic says only that it is a type F, which technically matches.
So with the motor all wired up and sitting in one of the vices the machine reads an A position and the motor cannot be spun by hand. However, after a couple minutes the controller errors out with 200-A ALARM A SVP system 410555. Also if you try to jog the axis, the motor will not spin, errors out with the same error.
I'm thinking either the servopack needs tuning for this motor or the encoder is somehow causing issues for me.
Does anyone have definitions for what the pots do on the top board? Or does anyone know what mistake I've made here?
Thank you in advance,
Brent
