I think this may need to be in it's own thread, so here it is. This relates to the previous thread of "Big New Ball Screws"
I was shocked and dismayed to find out that regular ball nuts are not rated for "rotating nut" duty - So say the good people at Nook Industries, and members of CNCzone. This really sucks. I've been looking all day yesterday, and I can't really find much of anything for this. I see press releases on Globalspec, and I've contacted two companies who claim to have rotating ball nuts, and even one with bearings (as is the case with something I saw on SKF) but I haven't heard back from anybody.
So... I'm wondering...
What's the story on rotating ball nuts?
Thanks again, and thanks to everybody who's been helping me out on the other thread.
