    Anilam Superwizard DRO problem..

    Hi all,
I have just bought a used Anilam SuperWizard read out hoping to fit it to my milling machine.

When I power it on It shows the welcome screen and says 'power has been turned off since last use - press any key to continue'

When I press any key it shows what looks like the dro screen for a fraction of a second and then goes stright back to the first screen, asking me to press any key again!

Is this a simple fix or am I just doing something wrong or is the dro knackered?

    Thanks!

Looks like it had lost power at some time during programing.
I shorted out the internal battery for a few seconds (with a lightbulb) and it now works fine.
    Well, almost fine.
Some of the keys are dead on the membrane keypad and Anilam tell me they no longer support it so spares are not available.

Has any body ever tried stripping / replacing a membrane keypad?

I thought I may be able to replace the dead 'keys' with push buttons but pealing the thing apart, it looks like the pads have 3 wires going to each contact and the ribbon cable that comes out has less cores than the amount of buttons.
It must run on some sort of x/y matrix.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks again!

Hi, regarding Anilam DRO, i'm facing the same prob as yours. What i do is replacing the keypad with 2 (3x4) membrane keypad. to substitute 1st u need to draw the schematic. i have the schematic and i already draw PCB for new keypad using tact switch with cap. If u want the schematic PM me and email.
