If it is just pressed on, then heat the new one to about 250°-300° and slide it into place.
A cold chisel and a hammer will take the old one off. A couple whacks between a few teeth should expand it enough that it will just fall off, just like removing an engine flywheel ring gear.
If it's Loc-Tited in place, then some heat may be required to remove.
I don't know if it's clocked, but you might put a witness mark on the spindle to align a tooth to.
