I've learned immensely from everybody's input on this forum. To give back, I've compiled all my thoughts on the G0704 belt drive topic in this video.

Styles of belt drive tested where, L-style timing belts, V belts, and MicroRib PolyV J belts.
In the end, if using the stock motor, very reliable success can be achieved with a Microrib Poly V belt with Delrin pulleys. Cost of material to make the pulleys was about $5 bucks and belt was $5 bucks. Catch the end of video to see the hogging power, no slippage at-all with stock motor.
