Ezcad Software Stuck when height controlled - Fiber laser marking machines

    Hi Everyone!

We recently got 3 new Fiber Laser marking machines with Ezcad 2.12.1 software and windows 10. The machines have motorised height control system, while the machine is marking, if we adjust the height, the software gets completely stuck, machine gets hanged - keeps marking and we have to force shut down and switch off the machine to stop the working.

We had fiber laser machines previously as well with windows 7 and ezcad 2.53 but never had this problem.

It is surprising to have the same problem in all 3 machines and we are fed up but the problem can not be sorted. Machines are running through stabilisers and earth grounded as well. The height control button is separate and I don’t think it has any link with the software, maybe the motor puts load on any power supply which stucks the machin? Does anyone have experience or can anyone guide how can we resolve it? The Chinese company is also yet unable to trace the problem.

    Looking forward to the help.
    Regards

Maybe hook one of the Z motors to a separate power supply and see if it makes any difference.
Are the machines equipped with original BJJCZ controllers or clones?

    Hi Paganihuayra,
I distribute fiber lasers with motorized z focusing but have never heard of this issue. Let me ask you, is this an auto-focus system or just a manual focus system? If it's manual, make sure there is no Z enabled in any of EzCad's menus & settings just in case. If it's an auto-focus system, normally you have to stop the engraving before re-focusing.
    Good luck

Hi have the same issue. but its EZCad 2.7.6
This has happened with machines from particular vendor only. Other vendors same setup is no issue.

We use Windows7 32 bit and SP1 as the OS and we want to try USB 3.0 to solve this problem. However the LMC card is only USB2.0 compatible so not sure if this can resolve the issue.

Want to know what could be the root cause.
    Symptoms:
In few machines, when we adjust Z Axis the software will hang.
In few machines, during continuous operation the software will hang.
In few machines, when the system is boot, the software will hang.
All are machines from same vendor and same batch.
We also thought Motor could interfere, and in most cases we kept the motor connection outside the Laser System, independent to isolate the effect of motor, yet the problem persist.

What we identify one thing is the Driver of the LMC card will auto erase and the problem solves only if we reinstall the driver. But however this problem might come ad-hoc. Many times even if z-axis is operated it works fine.

Any clues will be of great help.
