Re: Home switches - how useful, what is your set-up

Lots of useful input - more than I thought! I'm gonna add some cheap proximity switches to my build list for homing and I have some microswitches on order for limit switches already.

One further question... Where do you set the home position? My guess would be out of any likely workpiece envelope but not so far away from centre that it takes a long time to travel there?

You can set your "Home" position wherever you want.

But it's usually in one of the corners. On my router, I home where it's out of the way. At the end of every program, the machine goes to a "Park" position close to the home switches. So when I turn it on, it's always close to Home.
