I have an old Simco Turn HL-320 lathe (EEN-320) with a Fanuc 0T-A control and Stromag Stromatic CVT drives with EMTC EZG 703 & 705 DC servomotors. I had the drives repaired and I've been able to roughly tune them in but I really could use some help because they still are not quite right. Of course in my tinkering I've managed to get all my pots out of adjustment and my Z axis is ramping way too fast. Clearly I'm missing the fundamentals.

I managed to find a manual in Russian with German diagrams. I think I know what the pots mean but I just need to know the best approach to take in getting these drives tuned in better. Lots of pots to turn and zero experience.

German -> English (maybe)
P1 nSoll1 -> Setpoint 1 (I assume soll is sollwert?)
P2 nSoll2 -> Setpoint 2
P3 Tacho -> Tachogenerator
P4 Drift -> Drift
P5 Verstärkung -> reinforcement? Gain, maybe?
P6 Spitzenstrom -> peak current
P7 I2T Dauernennstrom -> continuous current
P8 IxR Abgl. (bei EMK-Regela.) -> IxR (voltage?) adjustment
P9 Hochlaufzeiten T1 -> Ramp time T1
P10 Hochlaufzeiten T2 -> Ramp time T2

In open loop mode I'm still moving a little, 5 - 10 thou. and when I put it in close loop mode it is still giving me an Error 420 on the Z axis.

Thanks in advance.
