    Mirror My Text

    Hi all,

I have a small question if anyone can help me?

    I’ve got BobCad-Cam V21 and I’m having trouble mirroring/flipping/reversing text for a job required for a mold.

    Any tips?

    Pete

OK..... I have a big question then. Perhaps I'm in the (wrong)

I've tried tech support over here in Australia and all I get is a girl who doesn't know anything. I've even asked for lessons, (I'll Pay) and still they fall on deaf ears.... I'll even drive, fly.... Who cares? Just a return phone call would help!

This whole Bob Cad thing has been nothing short of a joke from my side... I mean, it looks like countless hours of trying to get a handle on something, that will never really work correctly in the end....

I should have done my research a little better cause my time spent is worth way more than the package!..... I paid 2k.... I guess I should have put it towards something with better support and proven results!

Thanks.... But nope! It doesn't work on any Axis!

Show me your screen, if you can do it?

I'm sorry if I sound frustrated..... I just am....

    Pete,

Select all your text with a Window, Layer, or Color. Main Menu>Change>Rotate select the Axis you want to Rotate around and an Origin of Rotation X0 Y0 Z0.

Don't make any Copies and select OK. This will flip all the Text you have selected.

I assume that you want to Flip Text that is along the X Axis as if it where written on a paper. So you will want to Flip the Y Axis 180 Degrees.

If you still have trouble post or file here Zipped or as a DXF.

BTW: There are Free Video Tutorials on Sorin Nenu's Website for V19-V21. Here is the Link http://cadcamtrainer.com/forums/index.php

    Cheers!!!!!!

Pete requires a mirror of the text.
Advising to rotate is confusing the issue.

    No no no.
Pete headed his post 'Mirror My Text'.
    Mirroring/Flipping/Reversing are not Rotating.
What is required may be achieved by Rotating but only on certain planes at 180deg.
    I agree to disagree ;-)

    Thanks Kiwi,

It only worked when vectorized, so your screen shot helped big time... Thanks again!

Kiwi is correct; mirroring is not rotating, flipping or reversing. Mirroring is Perverting. What you are really looking for is a way to Pervert your text. Which you seem to have found so it is not wrong to say you have performed a perversion.

And of you do not believe me Google 'perverted image'.
An open mind is a virtue...so long as all the common sense has not leaked out.

LOL, still showed him another function in BCC that he will need later.
Plus, I assumed that his text was already Vectorized.

BTW Kiwi as I know your very talented with Scripting with BCC, have you seen a "Blisk" done in BCC yet???

I will post it in the V2007 Thread. It was more fun than the Boat Propeller, and only took half as long to create.

    Cheers!!!!!!

The text dosen't need to be vectorized to mirror, but must be highlighted.

Sorry Toby, you're wrong again. I know very little about BCC scripting. It's VB that I play with.
I'll look out for your "Blisk".
    Cheers.
