Drill Multiple Holes - Newbie Question

    Hello again,

I have another question for everyone out there which I am struggling to find an answer.

I have a 4mm drill bit attached to my router and I want to drill 8192 4mm holes in an 8ft X 4ft sheet of MDF.

I dont want the bit to plunge down, go round the cirlcle then back out. I want to move to point - plunge down - and lift back out.

I have marked my holes on my drawings with points, not circles so I am not able to just cut auto.

I hope I have been clear in describing my problem and would be very greatful if someone could help me out once again.

    Thank you,

    Dan.

If I Use spot drill my controller returns this error for every point...

"A move has been specified but no motion mode (G00, G01, G02, or G03) has been indicated"

    Thanks once again.

What ype of controller are you using? You will want to use a Drilling Cycle if possible. This should already be in your post.
1.Click on Machine => Drill and Cycles. It will open a dialog.
2.Select the Spot Drill, if it is available, and click OK.
3.Select your Point/Points and right click.
4.Fill out the dialog and click OK again. Your code will be generated.

Those are the steps needed to Drill in BobCAD.

I have a Simpl Drilling Demo Video for BCC V21 that I just completed.
    It's a 9MB WMV file.

If you leave your E-mail address, and can reeceive a 9MB attachment, I'll send it to you and you can test it out for me.

Have you seen Sorin's videos? (he does the seminars for Bobcad)

He has several free vids that walk through many of the operations.

Go to his sight (got his own sight so he can post his videos).
When you sign up to his forum you get access to the videos.
