    Cool pipe tap

When in tap parameters I can not find the thread type for a 2 NPT. The largest tap is 3/8 NPT

Ok I didn't look at what BCC has but the thread you are looking for is a 2-11 &1/2 right. Your best bet for now is to Calculate the Thread Lead for Feeds and Speeds in Predator Editor.

Then put in a request to BCC Tech Support for the remainder of the NPT Pipe Threads.

    1/11.5=.086956
    .086956*rpm=feedrate

    cheers!!!!!!

    toolendmill,

Here is what you will need to do.

    -Close BobCAD 2007
-Navigate to the MillingTechnology folder in the BobCAD-CAM 2007 directory.
    -Open the Taps folder.
-Open the folder for the Units you wish to add taps for.
    -Delete the MillingTaps.Taps file.
-Open the notepad file for the type of tap you wish to edit.
-Add a new line in the Text file, below is a break down of the values.

[tap label] , [nominal diameter] , [Pitch] , [Drill Size] , [Drill Size for Roll Tap] , [Drill Size for STI Tap] , [1 for inches/2 for mm] ,1,0, [the number of the tap]

The tap label is just the description you will see in the Holes dialog.

nominal diameter, Pitch and drill sizes should have a minimum of 4 digits after the decimal.

the number of the tap should follow the sequence of the numbers already present at the end of the lines.

When your done adding your tap(s) values to the list you will need to change the number under the percent sign to reflect the added taps. This value should be the total number of taps in the list.

Then save the file and close it. You should then have your tap listed in BobCAD-CAM 2007 the next time you open it.

    Regards
