Hi all
Hope someone can help me with this one.
I have several YAM lathes in the shop all with OTf controls (extended key pads and soft keys) out of the five machines 2 have param 923 bit2 set to 1
( type2 g71 ) I would like this on the other 3 but i am having problems setting the parameter ?.

as soon as I type in 00000100 and insert i get the errors:-

100 p/s Alarm
000 p/s Alarm

the 100 alarm is obviously the right enable alarm and i believed the 000 meant it required a power down.
But param will not B****y change it is now realy frustrating me
any ideas anyone ??

If you set the PWE bit to 1 you get the 100p/s alarm you should also be in emergency stop. enter it in MDI mode. The paramater should change.
reset the PWE, power down and up again.

Sometimes allowed options are defined in ROM, so called ROM mask.
If after 000 alarm and power on/off the parameter does not change, this is your case.
F. used this in many 0M/T model A I have seen. In such a case, when you ask F. to buy some option, the answer is that it is not possible with your mother or memory board, you have to pay a new board plus the option.
The only solution without Fanuc is to hack Fxxx ROMs.

Now tried everything and given up :tired:
just going to have to do them long hand.
