Hello all,
In the past tried typical upcut end mills with bad success in regards to tear out on the top edge. We usually take .07" off in the finish pass but often that's not enough. In the past few months we've switched to a compression rougher bit that works well but just wandering if anyone out there has tried an upcut rougher on hard woods? I like the thought of an upcut because I think it would be easier on the tool and the machine to get the chips out and I'm wandering if the serrated flutes would reduce chip out on the top edge.
Thanks for any feedback.
