    What do you call it??

What do you call it when the feed rate slows when the cutter enters a tight internal radius and speeds up when in the clear?? I guess the program looks ahead and sees the condition and varies the feed rate. Is there a term for this?? FeatureCam does this and I think MasterCam does this also. Is this a common feature in cadcam programs? Which programs have this ability???

    Thanks

Mastercam calls it High Feed Machining. It works on 2d and 3d cuts. They base it on changes in direction (corners) and volume of cut (ramping down in Z during an XY move would reduce the feedrate). You do have to set some values for YOUR machine to determine how fast it can cut and still maintain accuracy.

Thanks Mike, I was hoping someone would come along and know what I was referring to. I would think this would be a huge time saver.
