    Fanuc 6mb 4th axis help

    Hello all,

I have recently acquired an older import vertical machining center equipped with a Fanuc 6mb control, tool changer and a 4th axis, I can successfully index the axis in mdi, home it out from what I can tell (the home light does not light up after it appears to have homed itself) and i can rotate the 4th wherever I like with the hand wheel, however i can not for the life of me figure out how to command it to feed in mdi or in a program, it just sits there whenever it reads the command and does nothing, since it was equipped with 4th axis card from new, (as far as i know) and has a hand wheel that i can manually rotate the axis without commanding it in mdi, I had assumed that it was like other machines i had encountered in the work place that if you could move the 4th axis with the hand wheel, they were considered to be a full 4th axis, but if you could only command them to index in mdi, then they were considered an indexing 4th axis, am i totally wrong with this theory? Am i missing something? Are my parameters set incorrectly? Also how can I disconnect the 4th axis in the future, from what i can tell the machine was not equipped with the famed "4th axis neglect" switch in the electrical cabinet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

so G0 only on the rotary axis via MDI right?
i see additional axis control as well as additional axis simultaneous control as separate options, but nothing about only G0.

Yes that is correct G0 only in mdi, do you by chance know what the parameters for simultaneous axis control and additional axis are, maybe there's something set wrong there?

    you have mail, yay.

What make is this machine anyhow?

I dont think you could MDI G0 if you didnt have a successful zero return.

What F did you try with the G1?

I noticed you're using "A" as the programming address. Check parameter 24 bits 1, 2, 3 for the address that's assigned to the additional axis.
    It may not be "A".

It still does nothing, it will accept rapid commands in mdi ie: g90 or g91 A180., but will not take a feed command
