    Nakamura tome oiling question

Hey guys. I have a new to me Nakamura tome TW-10 Cnc twin turret twin spindle lathe and it goes through about a liter of way oil per day.
Is this normal? Is there a way to turn the oil pump down a little? I have another Cnc lathe that uses lithium based grease and that works great and keeps the machine clean. I am thinking of converting over to grease on all the linier rails and ball screws and putting in a smaller pump or turning down the one In the machine now. For lubing the turrets and live tooling.
Any thoughts or comments on this conversion?

    Re: Nakamura tome oiling question

I know this thread is old at this point, but depending on the age of the machine the Injectors may have failed if the spring inside of them has given out. This causes oil to continue to pump out of the injectors while the machine continues to attempt to reach oil pressure. Could be the cause of a sudden increase in oil consumption. Nakamura has recently started to use grease on their newer machines for this reason also. I work for the company that makes the newer grease based system, so if you have any questions let me know.
