Hello,

My father owns a Nardini model #TT-1030E metalturning lathe. It has a problem where the brake is not being activated when the forward/reverse control lever ( red handle lever ) is turned to the 'off' position.

We looked inside the electrical panel and found a 'zero speed control' unit which gives an output signal to the motor brake. The controller is a Sense model #KWV-233DU and the proximity switch is a Sense #PS5-16P-E/SX. The control unit has a voltage supply to it of 30 volts AC, yet the unit operates intermittantly. When it is working there is a indicator light which is on the zero speed control and a indicator light on the sensor itself.

The zero speed control is mounted on a Din rail and the sensor is mounted in a plastic holder which holds the cylindrical sensor. The sensor senses off of a rotating pulley with a large and small blind hole drilled into it.

We would like to retrofit this machine with a new zero speed control unit as we suspect it is bad. What kind of zero speed control is available for this type of machine?

Please help as we need to get this machine running properly for my Father's business.

Thank you!

Terry B.
