Greetings,

Long time member, first time posting. I have a large CNC machine I use for wood working but am getting in to milling various parts in aluminium. My question is do I go with a vertical mill such as a Hiten Vertical Turret Mill 9" x 42" Multiple Speed Drill Milling Machine DRO, or with a Tormach enclosed 1100 series 3?

Any opinions would be appreciated. I would be milling both 6061 and 7075 billet aluminum as well as forged pieces.

Perhaps this isn't even an apples to apples comparison, as I really have NO CLUE what the differences may be.

I would go with the enclosed tormach over a knee mill. Have you looked into a used haas?

I did look at the HAAS. I understand they are higher quality. Thank you for the input. I think the HAAS is the way to fo.
