Hello guys,
I am looking to be able to cut alum plates or stock to use on my CNC machine. I found the thread from 2005 where some of the recommendations where to use a jigsaw or table saw (yikes after reading of the dangers of kick back) I have also hear people use a bandsaw? I want something that will give me a margin of safety. I see they make some horizontal bandsaws that are pricey and large.
I want to cut down the stock or scratch to fit in a the vise or "fixture" plate. Straight edges would be nice, but I don't think they are critical.
I want considering something like this, knowing that I would have to get a metal blade.
I am considering this model seems to be the best bang for the buck providing two speeds and having a 3.5 A motor. It also has a guide rail to held with straight edges.

Any thoughts or advice would be great.
