220v Chinese motor both hot leads need to be 220v?

Hello quick question, very confused with this, if I posted this in the wrong section please let me know, or move it.

Theyre telling me that each of these wires (Green, and black) must be 220v, how is that even possible?? In the usa we have 220v and there 180 degrees out of phase (right?) How do you get 240v on a single wire?

    208v 380v 400v 415v 440v 600v is a industry standard this covers most of the worlds main power supply's for 3Ph

On just 2 legs they may be as confused as you are, Green colored wire should never be used as a Power wire, ( code violation ) If you meter across the 2 Terminals they will be 220v/240v single Phase supply

So what is on the motor label is it 220v of 440v

In the USA or all of NA you have 120v / 240v supply single phase supply not 220v

Make sure you have a Ground wire also so you need to have 3 wires connected to the motor 2 Hot and Ground it looks like the motor is a standard 220v Cap start single phase motor

To add, in N.A. the 120v-0-120v residential supply is derived from the secondary of a 1ph transformer, in most other parts of the world the 230v/240v is derived from one phase and a star neutral as seen on the transformer on the right.
    Essentially the same result.
Countries such as China tend to show power diagrams catering to the latter, so often their instructions are confusing, also they do not always conform to earth grounding code, colours etc.

So are you saying I use my two 110 lines and hook them to basically their l1. And l2 witch they use their 220 as l1 and they use a green wire that would be our ground on l2?

N.A. 1ph is 120v-0v-120v with the 0v being the neutral, for 240v 1ph , you connect to each of the 120v.
That motor appears to show 3ph?

It is not USA standard, they probably have a 380V star with grounded zero- that would give them 220V between each leg and grounded zero.
There is nothing wrong if you hook it up to 240V in US ( don’t use green wire. Use black or red whatever you want) just be sure it can handle 60HZ

It is possible to run 3 ph motor in a single phase with capacitors.
Just wouldn’t get as efficient as 3 ph

Not as efficient and can have problems under load, this is how RPC Rotary phase convertors work.
