    CNCEST

I am in need of some help, I bought a 6040 cnc router and need the drivers (i think)to get this up and running. it's been in my shop for 4 months and wont do a thing.....I can turn the knobs on the stepper motors with power off, but when you turn the controler on the motors lock up.....I bought a faster computer with windows 7 installed ( as per the seller) also a new monitor, remote control for mach 3..........I need to get this running..... thank you for any help you can offer.

From the description it seems that the motors are doing what they should. They are intended to remain in place with a current applied and to move when the controller sends them a number of pulses.Have you been through the Mach 3 parameters to make sure they are correct?Do you have a sample Gcode file that can be run to verify that the machine will actually run?

    Hello.

As far as i know the drivers are already part of the MACH3 system but for certain generic breakout cards only.

While it´s not clear enough MACH3 appears to be a 32 bit application. Have you checked both your Windows and MACH3 versions?

Also check for your breakout card. It might need the drivers you mentioned and they should be asked to the breakout card manufacturer not ARTSOFT although they might help.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards.

    Addendum.

Check for the existance of the following drivers in your WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS folder:

    parport.sys

    serenum.sys

    serial.sys

MACH3 is supposed to use the corresponding driver.

    Regards.

I wonder if the Mach 3 that was supplied is the full version or one of the fabled pirate or demo versions.Either way, I suspect the original question would find an answer faster on the dedicated Mach software forum https://www.cnczone.com/forums/mach-...oft-software-/ .

    Re: CNCEST

The copy of Mach3 that came with mine was a pirated version.

This is the RNRMotion.dll file that got me going.
