stem, have you seen Eric Whittles air cooled V8? very nice engine, fits in your hand and representative of a wwI aeroengine. was printed as a series in ME a few years ago. if you go the chaski home machinist site and check out the IC section, there is a link posted to some scans.

there are many many successful designs out there that have published over the years. subscribe some of the mags, join model engineer forums or just surf, for sure see something that catches your eye

Stem, Look in Model Engineer from 13 April 2006. Plans and construction notes have been serialised in alternate issues.
I have made it and it runs well. No gears to make and will run as Glow plug or spark ignition.
Would post a pic if I knew how.

The model is NE15S designed by "Nemett" and serialised in Model Engineer.
Plans may by bought directly from the designer.
The model is about 15cc capacity with a 25mm bore. it is wet sumped and splash lubrication means no oil pump. the single cam drive is by toothed belt so no gears to cut. Cams are cut on the bench mill using a rotary table. A pair made together, then separated, case hardened and Loctited to the cam shaft. Bearings are roller or ball. You'll love this, dimensions in metric.

    hope it worked
i put the text up Mago.
looks great and i love it!
