    ACAD formula help please

    Hi,

Is there any way to put a formula into AutoCAD? What I want to do is tell ACAD that the Z value on a 2D surface is a function of X so that if I then say, ok X=0.01 it will calculate the Z value for me and stick a point on my drawing (I want to link all these X,Y points obviously).

There will be many points... like the total X travel will be around 20mm and the X increment about 0.01mm (giving 2000 X,Y points).

I have looked through the ACAD help files to no avail and searched CNC zone here too..I'm at a loss.

I'm only asking cos I was going to write my own programe to do it, but if ACAD can do it this will save time (of which I do NOT have a lot at the moment hehe).

Any ideas, as always, greatly appreciated- many thanks in advance.

    Iain.
I love deadlines- I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.
