help about step motors ACT 23HS8430

    Hi all!

I am new to this area, and i dont have experience with parts of cnc
we take some cnc machine for hot wire cutting, milling styrofoam

all works fine when machine use hot wire for cut
but when we mount 3rd Z axis (rods, threaded rod, holder and milling AMB 1050W) all together is about 7-8kg maybe more
    then machine doesnt work well

sometimes left stepper motor seams like dont have enough power to lift Z axis, z axis have 2 step motors for left side and right side
it is possible that step motors are to weak to lift all z axis parts
    motors are ACT 23HS8430

also if a little bit of milling dust falls on Z-axis rods and threaded rod machine stops working, goes out of sync and does not make what should do

    thank you

Your motors are 1,8Nm holding torque. depending on the pitch of the leadscrew, it will give the max it can lift.
However, if you are using a threaded leadscrew, you will lose a lot of the power of your motors, and they are very bad when dirty.
Have a look at a ballscrew and see if you can replace the threaded leadscrews. Ballscrew is much more efficient and accurate. Keep them clean and your problems might be solved.

Hi Zoki - Was this machine supplied with all these parts and was it meant to have the router on it? 1) You need to check that all mechanical elements are running correctly and its adjusted correctly 2) if all mechs are good then the motors are overloaded with the router 3) if this machine was bought from someone that told you it would work with the router you need to speak to that supplier and say it does not work!! If its intended to be a foam cutter only its unlikely to be able to do any routing at all. 4) often this sort of machine has a z axis balancer on it. wire springs. gas springs weights etc are these missing?
