When I do a mill thread feature, it has a very slow intermittent feed. I set the feed for 25 ipm and it will only do it smoothly at 5 ipm. I am using V33 and sending to M Plus control via pred ed and quatech server. Any ideas? It is an npt thread.

... G09 or G08 blending maybe...What machine is Big Bob v33 for?
Mazak VTC 20 B
Hi Jmooresshop, Have you got this figured out?
I once consulted for a shop running all Mazaks and they kept throwing errors trying to thread mill. Turns out they ran their machines in IPR mode all of the time so when I shipped them a toolpath in IPM the control freaked out because it couldn't physically move the tool 35 inches per revolution at 2000'ish RPM.
Maybe exact stop is on?
Are you DNC'ing from the server? Too slow a baud rate for the tiny lines to thread mill?
How would I check to see if exact stop is on or off? I am not familiar with that term. Baud rate is as high as I can go. When I do 3D profiles, it feeds fine.
Exact stop mode forces the machine to hit the programmed points dead on before moving to the next point. It causes slow jerky motion on programs with a lot of tiny lines and arcs. G61 turns exact stop on and G64 turns it off. G09 is a non-modal exact stop. If 3D profiles work fine then exact stop is most likely off.
Sadly I'm not a MAZAK expert. I only have the one experience thread milling on one.
Thanks for taking the time. I appreciate it.
