Re: What's a reasonable sale price for my 1100 Series 2?

My big concern that may finally tip me over to LinuxCNC for builds is whether or not Mach 3 (I'm not really interested in Mach 4) runs well enough under W10. The sweet spot I found was with dual core W764Pro with 8GB memory or more. On board graphics ran just fine as long as I kept the allocation low. If I get over a million lines of code I still turn off the tool path display. I added a button to do that to the home screen. Biggest program I have run was 2.3 million lines of code, but I get up around that million line mark regularly.

I can still buy refurbished computers in that sweet spot, but its getting harder and harder to find them with W764Pro.

I have setup 8 machines (probably 15 computers not counting demo only installations on design computers) I think that ran Mach 3 and currently have 4 licenses running on 4 machines.

Taig, MaxNC, Charter Broke, Chinese Noodle (limp like noodle) Router, Hurco, Syil Speedmaster (times 3).

I also have a few more machines in various stages of building.

Yeah, my first thought was I'll be dead when that happens!
But really, I enjoy making stuff so much it keeps me going...
Look for the estate sale when I kick the bucket

    100% agree!
And I take excellent care of all my precision machines and tools.
Always cleaned and serviced on regular basis.
They would be getting some good stuff, not wore out abused boat anchors!

Even when you try to care for stuff you overlook something or its not on list and it bites you.
"clean and apply anti-seize to cutter insert screws on regular basis" my newest note:
Easy to turn an expensive insert cutter tool into junk!

I need to get past that "first" machine I guess... and give up my beloved Smooth Steppers.
