    Use for 850x3500mm CNC

A friend of mine is selling 1000x3500mm bed for a cnc router made from very heavy steel profiles (double 200x100x10mm) with machined flats for linear ways.

    The construction weighs over 1000kg/2000)lbs.

The price is a steal at 800$.

I would buy it but I have no idea what would I use a router this narrow and long, do you have any ideas?

I don't wanna miss opportunity this good...

I would cut it in half or thirds. Use one sell the others.

If he made them wide enough for a standard 2440X1220 sheet of plywood he might find a lot of customers.

I could maybe make it 1200mm wide by having a moving table/fixed gantry design, I'm not sure about a moving gantry design...

Maybe a dedicated 4-axis machine? Mount a rotary table at one end and a track to slide and lock down a tailstock at the other. Build a massive moving gantry to hold a short Y axis and a long Z. Use ball screws for Y and Z and mount racks to the sides for X.
