Last summer I buildt three picsteps and one 4 axis interface from pminmo site. At the time 2 of them were working, the third one only "shaked" the motor. Didn't had the time then to proper debug it (summer holiday had ended...).
This summer holiday I have worked more with my cnc plans and therefore started debuging the faulty picstep. To my big surprise I found out that one of those LMD chips werent a LMD chip but had the code "LM4656" stamped on it (must have received one wrong chip amongst the 6 I ordered), I therefore thought this to be the problem and reordered one new LMD chip.
Received this today and soldered it to the picstep board. Checked for shorts and then fired up the picstep. But is still does not work. Did some further testing but couldn't find a fault or short. Tested the AC voltage to the motors from the two LMD chips but those were close to zero. Since I think it is doubtfully that both LMD chips are faulty I thought that maybe the fault was the microcontroller and swapped it for a confirmed working microcontroller. Still didn't do it, I am wondering if it can be something wrong with the resonator? Would apreciate some thought on what the problem(s) could be!
