    Stepper Identification

I recently started building a rockcliff cnc machine from plans. I'm really enjoying the build. I'm planning on ordering some motors from hobbycnc, but I did receive two stepper motors from a friend who ripped it from a printer.

    It has 8 wires:

    Astrosyn MiniAngle Stepper
    Type: 23LM-C038-01
    5.6 V/Phase
    1.4 A/Phase
    1.8 Deg/Step

What exactly does this all mean? What is the torque for this motor? How can I find out what the connections are?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    A real CNC noob

Does anybody know how I can identify the 8 wires and how I need to connect them to get them going. I don't have a controller at the moment but I want to build a controller driven by an avr
