I have a 6ft x 3ft router. Can it be usefully converted, with an addon, to hot wire r.c. plane airfoils.
Any practical guidance would be appreciated.

From the screen name it appears we could be near neighbours.I haven't any advice about converting a router to hot wire cutter but I have cut several aerofoils manually with a hand held device.I believe Stefano Duranti's software will generate the code for the foil sections in the database. What my be a challenge will be arranging for the secondary end of the mechanism to (a) exist and (b) apply the correct tension for wires of various lengths.I don't know if you have found this website yet https://rckeith.co.uk/free-linuxcnc-...ds-ox-router/# . There is good deal of information there.
Thanks for reply, looked at Keith`s site, most interesting.
I am born and bred Eaton Bray. Are you familiar with it? Not living there now, but have been for some years living in Hampshire.
Have been milling a couple of foam fuse`s but it makes quite a mess. So was this morning looking at rigging up some kind of cnc wire cutter..
Good luck with the project. It seems we were referring to different Eatons.
