I just recieved a DynaCNC Dual Plasma Routing table. This table uses Mach 3. Does BobCAD/CAM V21 work well for Plasma Cutting? I would like to use it for all the routing but wondering if I still need to purchase something like SheetCAM to cut using plasma or will BOBCAM output the necessary code for lead in/outs and stuff specific to plasma or would I be attempting to use the wrong tool for the job.

Sheetcam for plasma is the answer, hands down. I have not used BCC but perhaps a couple of times (and that was only V17 or 19), but I don't feel that it was designed specifically for plasma, whereas Sheetcam is primarily used for plasma, as well as lite routing.

Bobcad will do the job for the paths with no problem.

I do not use it for plasma but I know a company using it for laser and it is basically the same.

I have heard though that the sheet layout in Bobcad is not as good as some of the others and that may be where you should get a good demo from both companies.

Bobcad makes 2d parts a snap to design...you may need another program to nest them into a sheet though. Not sure
