Driver Stepper Compatibility - Japan Server Co. and CWD556 - Gravograh vx86 rebuild

Hey guys, I am retrofiting a Gravograph VX86 and would like to try and reuse the exisiting steppers.

They are 8 wire and phases have been paired by Gravograph, see attached photos.

Would CWD556 Drivers with 24V PSU work ok with this?

    Thanks

    Hi,
yes that driver will work but why such a low voltage? If you want steppers to go fast use the highest possible voltage you can. In your case you are limited
by the driver, max 50V....so use 50V. At 24 V your steppers will get to a few hundred rpm then start missing steps or stalling, with 50V that might start at 750rpm.

    Cheers Craig,

Just wanted a bit of confirmation before connecting.
Was using 24V to be on safe side damage wise if not compatible.

Anyway wiring it it up now with 48v PSU.
